I Temple of the Dog erano un gruppo rock americano formato nel 1990 da Chris Cornell dei Soundgarden. Ha fondato la band come tributo al suo amico Andrew Wood. Wood morì il 19 marzo 1990 per un'overdose di eroina, il giorno in cui Cornell tornò da un tour.
Prima di morire, Andrew era stato il cantante dei Malfunkshun e dei Mother Love Bone.
I membri della band comprendevano Stone Gossard alla chitarra ritmica, Jeff Ament al basso (entrambi ex membri dei Mother Love Bone), Mike McCready alla chitarra solista, Matt Cameron alla batteria e Eddie Vedder, che forniva i cori.
